Everything You Need to Know About the New 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250
Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz announced the brand-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250 which set to hit the market this fall. Joining its sibling, the EQB 350, the EQB 250 aims to be the most accessible electric vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Furthermore, it promises a greater range than the EQB 350, while delivering equal levels of versatility and state-of-the-art technology. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250.
Eligibility for the iZEV Canadian EV Program
Priced at $59,990, the EQB 250 qualifies for the full benefits of the federal iZEV electric vehicle incentive program. This allows potential buyers to enjoy a rebate of up to $5,000 off the EQB 250’s price. This is the first Mercedes-Benz electric SUV to be eligible for the iZEV program, highlighting its exceptional value proposition.
Cutting-Edge Charging Technology and Extended Range
The EQB 250 will be equipped with the same 70.5-kWh battery as the EQB 350. Nevertheless, it boasts a 394 km range, as opposed to the 356 km offered by the EQB 350. This notable improvement is attributed to the EQB 250’s front-mounted electric motor, compared to the dual-motor setup in the EQB 350. This singular motor will drive the front axle of the EQB 250, producing 188 hp and 284 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to charging, the EQB 250 can harness up to 100 kW, enabling the battery to jump from 10% to 80% in a swift 32 minutes. For home charging, speeds of up to 11 kW mean a charge from 10% to 100% in just 7.75 hours.
Optional Third Row
Both the 2023 EQB 250 and the EQB 350 offer an optional third-row seating arrangement. This added seating capability is unique to this segment, and is meticulously designed for function. Passengers up to 1.65 m tall can comfortably occupy the third row. The EQB 250, despite its compact design, generously accommodates all passengers. Ample headroom is present in the front and second rows, and the rear seat legroom extends up to 87 mm. The second row can also be adjusted by 140 mm, either to enhance rear seat space or to augment cargo capacity. Notably, with the third row in place, the EQB 250 can accommodate up to four child seats.
Tailored for Your Active Lifestyle
Designed with adaptability in mind, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250 caters to various needs. Its cargo capacity ranges from 465 L to 495 L in seven-seat and five-seat configurations respectively. The overall cargo space fluctuates between 1620 L to 1710 L, positioning the EQB 250 as one of the most versatile contenders in its segment.
