You will find everything you enjoy on a daily basis about your current premium SUV, with noticeable enhancements in every area. And if you are in the market for a new luxury sport utility vehicle, the GLC provides an impeccable balance of refinement and sportiness, and it does not fear going off the beaten path. Let's take a look at the highlights of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC.
Enhanced powertrain with a 48-volt mild-hybrid systemThe 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC will be available in a single trim at launch, the GLC 300. This model features a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain with a built-in mild hybrid system thanks to the integration of a 48-volt battery, making it smoother and more linear in its power delivery while also improving fuel consumption. Output is rated at 258 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, with 23 hp and 148 pound-feet of torque available through the electric starter-generator. This will push the new GLC to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the full suite of DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes will be offered.
Enhanced off-road capabilityThe GLC has always been capable in off-road driving conditions, but the new generation pushes the envelope even further. The GLC 300 will be offered with an OFF-ROAD driving mode that customizes the settings of the chassis and drivetrain to ensure optimal performance off the beaten path. Moreover, new technologies provide improved confidence when the path ahead gets tricky.
A 360-degree camera provides unparalleled visibility, specifically through the transparent engine hood function that allows you to see objects very close to the GLC as if you are looking through the engine compartment. The system also provides a view under the front of the vehicle and around the front wheels to better see what lies ahead and the steering position. A range of data, including inclination, gradient, topographical altitude and geo-coordinates are also displayed to the driver.
Improved towing capabilityMany GLC owners use their luxury SUV for towing, and the 2023 model will make the process even easier. The Mercedes-Benz User Experience infotainment system with navigation features a towing route planner that maps out an optimized route based on driver inputted trailer settings. There is also a new trailer manoeuvring assist feature that makes the GLC significantly more agile when towing.
Advanced safetyMercedes-Benz has upgraded the safety features in the 2023 GLC, adding more technologies to the Intelligent Drive package. Highlights include the ability to detect stationary vehicles at up to 100 km/h and an upgraded Active Steering Assist feature with lane detection. The new GLC also will offer LED high-performance headlamps and an optional Digital Light system that significantly improves night visibility. This technology can darken specific areas of the light beam to preserve your high beams' visibility without blinding other drivers.
A long list of other improvements have been made to the 2023 GLC. Some are significant, like an extra 50 L of rear cargo capacity, while others are subtle, like an improved drag coefficient that will reduce wind noise and improve efficiency.
The interior and exterior have also been revised and the suspension has been redesigned to ensure the perfect balance of handling and comfort on roads in poor condition. Discover everything the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC has to offer today.
